Mario and Yoshi

This was my second time entering a chalk festival. Actually, I had first drawn this design of Yoshi in my driveway a few months earlier (but it was Easter and I decided to give it bunny ears as well!), and I liked it so much that I decided to try it again! Many of my family members love Mario, and not only do the characters make fantastic chalk subjects because of their bright colors, but they remind me of times I've spent with my family. I hold fond memories of playing Dr. Mario and Super Mario Bros 3 with my mom on our NES, and then playing on our Wii with my siblings. These are things from my childhood that I cherish, always bringing a smile to my face. It was awesome to see how many other people smiled because of this drawing, too!
